  Dear Carrie, I hope you had a blessed Christmas! I thoroughly enjoyed your two programs on music. I have been aware of many of the things that you talked about for years (actually decades). I play classical music in the background when homeschooling my grands. As a speech therapist working with stroke patients, I saw people who couldn’t volitionally talk or imitate words but could sing a song. Music is located in the right side of the brain whereas speech is located in the left side of the brain. Music links the two together. This helps to explain why we remember words and sentences better when they are accompanied by a tune. I loved how you talked about music touching the emotions and then tying it in with the Psalms and worship and praising God. We are commanded to “sing hymns and Psalms and spiritual songs” for good reason. It glorifies God while ministering to our souls and to one another. Another amazing way that God created us and seeks the best for us! Praying for God’s blessings on you in the coming year as you continue to serve Him faithfully! Love in Christ, Cathy Mickelson
